Our Practitioners

Ian Goldsmith
Psychologist
BA Dip, Psych MAPS
We all have struggles and difficulties from time to time – things we cannot seem to fix or solve on our own. For nearly 4 decades I have been honoured to talk with many folk with such struggles. Most often, bit by bit, we can find ways out of these difficulties, whether they be individual, relationship or wider problems. Whatever the dilemma, all have solutions – our task is to find them, together. Due to my Family Court experience, I work with separated couples and families always looking for the best outcome for all.

Kerri Marshall
Psychologist
B Sc, Grad Dip Psych, AMAPS
I have lived and worked in Toowoomba for the past 18 years; much of this time working with adolescents, children and their families. I have a keen interest in young people reaching their potential and often use a combination of psychometric assessment and counselling to help them with this. I use an eclectic approach to counselling to try to tailor the support for each individual and their specific needs and strengths.

Dr Helen Waters
Clinical Psychologist
B Sc (Hons Psych), D Psych (Clinical)
I strongly believe that the development of an understanding of oneself on an emotional level is vital to improving psychological wellbeing. As such I enjoy working with clients to help them to build personal awareness and to develop strategies that will aid in resolving issues that adversely impact on the enjoyment of their lives. I feel that one of my key strengths as a psychologist is being able to connect with people, and building rapport with my clients is my number one priority.

Laanie Metcalfe
Counsellor
BA(Psych; Human Bio Sci), M(Couns), Ad (App SC)
I am married and a mum to two growing boys. Before I started in private practice I was a frontline Advanced Care Paramedic for 17 years. I keep discovering that the brain does different things when coping with trauma compared to stress, anxiety, etc and this is why we sometimes find it hard to "get over things" as easily as we may have once thought. I am happy to work with you regarding anything that may have 'rocked your foundations'. Together we can find a way to soothe the concern and get back to managing and coping with each new day.
