Consulting Fees
Deposit for Initial Booking
When you book your first appointment a $60.00 booking fee is charged. This is a non-refundable deposit to cover any cancellation. The amount will be deducted from your initial appointment.

Note: Concession or bulk bill appointments may be available for health care or pension card holders with a valid Mental Health Care Plan. DVA referrals are also accepted, with no out-of-pocket expense. NDIS participants will be charged in line with the NDIS fee schedule.

Note: Fees for each assessment will vary for each individual, with the cost of the assessment calculated based on the hours required to complete the assessment and reporting. Cancellation Fees
A cancellation fee applies when an appointment is cancelled inside 24 hours of the appointment. Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. While some circumstances may be unforeseen, this policy is in place to ensure that we can accommodate all of our clients as best as possible.

Rebates
Costs and potential savings
At Magnolia House, we have the facilities for online claiming through Medicare and Private Health. If you have your bank details set up for the rebate payments, we can process them at the time of your appointment. Generally speaking, Medicare deposits this into your account within 2 days.
Medicare Rebates:
You may be eligible for a ‘Mental Health Care Plan’ under the Medicare ‘Better Access Initiative’ (i.e., your doctor must first assess that you require the services of a psychologist). If your GP places you under this plan, then you will be entitled to a rebate from Medicare for 10 sessions per calendar year.
You will need to pay for any charges in excess of the Medicare rebate (i.e., ‘the gap’) for services under this scheme. However, these out-of-pocket expenses will count towards the Medicare Safety Net. The Medicare Safety Net is designed to protect high users of health services from large out-of-pocket expenses. Private Health Claims:
If you have private health insurance, then you might be entitled to a rebate. Each fund is different, so it is worth checking with your fund to see what your entitlements are. The applicable item numbers are ‘100’ (initial consultation) and ‘200’ (subsequent consultation).
