Stacey is a certified Interplay Facilitator and registered teacher with a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Early Childhood. Stacey has taught at all grade levels in both state and independent primary schools. Her passion in these roles was incorporating social-emotional learning and play-based learning into the classroom.
As an Interplay Facilitator/Early Childhood Educator for Magnolia House, Stacey provides play therapy for clients of all ages and stages. Interplay is a play therapy modality focusing on attachment. Through play, Stacey works with the client along with key attachment figures in the client's life (e.g., working with child and parent). Therapeutic play becomes a way for the child to express worries, thoughts, feelings and trauma. Stacey facilitates a safe space for the child and parent to work through these expressions. This building of secure attachment allows a flow-on effect to the client's emotional and cognitive development.
Stacey is also a qualified COSP facilitator offering the Circle of Security support program to families and carers.
As a mum to three neurodivergent children herself, Stacey is a strong advocate of supporting the family system. With acceptance and understanding, each member of the family system can grow from where they are at. Stacey values the collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and works extensively with participants and families in the Toowoomba area.
