Upasana is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, known for her exceptional ability to connect with clients through empathy, authenticity, and a non-judgmental, trauma-informed, person-centred approach. With over thirteen years of cumulative experience in social work, human services, and community development, both in Australia and internationally, Upasana has developed a deep understanding of diverse communities.
After earning her Master of Social Work degree from Griffith University, Upasana built her career in child protection and mental health in rural Queensland. These experiences have allowed her to work with people of all genders, cultures, and ages, honing her expertise in addressing complex mental health needs.
Specializing in children, teenagers, and young adults, Upasana has a particular passion for supporting neurodiverse individuals. She is trained in Play Therapy and is skilled in the assessment and treatment of Eating Disorders. Her eclectic therapeutic style incorporates elements of CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, and Sensory-Motor approaches, allowing her to adapt to each client's unique needs.
Upasana continues to work with young people facing severe and complex mental health challenges. Outside of her practice, she finds joy in creative arts, participating in local theatre and vocal performances, while also dedicating time to her professional development, ensuring that her clients receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care.
